Select Board approves $100,000 Providence Road land sale
Select Board · Meeting of July 13, 2026
Northbridge Select Board accepts lone $100,000 bid to develop town land into senior housing and a park. Town Planner Gary Bechtel told the board only BK&R Realty Development LLC responded to a request for proposals that drew interest from five firms for the 22-acre Providence Road parcel. The firm's representative, Bill Renaud, said the plan places senior housing on about five acres and returns the rest to the town as a public park with a playground, trails and roughly 30 parking spaces, calling it "for all the public." The board voted unanimously to approve the sale subject to a land development agreement, with state environmental review not expected to clear until spring 2027 and full build-out five to six years away.
Earlier, the board unanimously filled five committee vacancies, including Selectman Russell Collins to the Bylaw Review Committee and Sheila Elliott as a part-time community health worker, and voted to sign the September 1 state primary warrant.
