NORTHBRIDGE — Whitinsville Social Library board advances renovation to top of state waitlist. The library's Massachusetts Public Library Construction Program design scored high and was accepted by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners before the deadline, with the final report due at the end of March. The project remains on "Waitlisted" status but now sits atop the list; if one of the four libraries ahead declines or advances, Whitinsville moves into active consideration, likely by late June or early July.
The board unanimously approved a $2,000 authorization for treasury equipment and heard that the new Ingram collection system has added 776 items and attracted 85 new patrons in 53 days.
