Community Preservation Committee backs $294K for Habitat for Humanity housing

NORTHBRIDGE — The Northbridge Community Preservation Committee voted unanimously to recommend nearly $294,000 in CPA funds for a Habitat for Humanity single-family or duplex project at 1833 Quaker Street, plus $375,000 for playground equipment and site improvements at the Cross Street Tot Lot. Committee Chair Glenn King and six other members also voted to set aside $26,000 each from FY2027 Community Preservation Fund revenues for Historic Resources, Community Housing, and Open Space and Recreation reserves, plus $182,000 for a Budgeted Reserve, and to allocate $10,000 for committee administrative expenses and $118,550 for Castle Hill Farm acquisition debt service. The recommendations go to the May 5 Spring Annual Town Meeting.
